![]() Stability is such a strong, interesting part of early game considerations, so I think it needs to ramp up in severity in the late game. And in the late game, stability really becomes a non-factor. In my experience, Science and Eras are often misaligned. As many others will say, the game pacing and overall balance definitely feels off. I'm stoked to see where it goes, and I'm happy to provide feedback.ġ. The combat system, art style, diplomacy, events, avatars and especially the technical level are really well done and I am definitely having fun with it at the moment! Looking forward to coming updates. It would be cool to have an option where you can play a culture from beginning to end.īesides Humankind is a good game. That kind of rivalry or bonding only existed in the last era when cultures didn't change anymore. I can see the benefits of it (the cultures actually existed in the era you're in and the unique units aren't just there for one era) but there was no real bonding between me and the opponent AI anymore ('Oh so you're the mexicans now instead of the japanese. Would love to see that changed some time.Īnother thing is the fact that you have to change your culture every era. Adding the fact that resources were very scarce in my game there wasn't much to do with the environment around your cities. All you really do is put as many districts as possible into the territory of a city (and theres a ton of tiles around a city). The main gameplay issue for me is the boring city building. But they're pretty close to where they should be. The hordes have so much health, they might as well be invincible if you aren't behind walls. This is really just me, but the huns seem to be just a little too good. Perhaps increase cost? Or add higher influence to Diplomatic actions.ĥ. More varied uses for influence late game, although the current uses are fine. Maybe impose a harsh production or stability cost to building without prereqs instead.Ĥ. In the same vein, strategic resources for units is good, but the player gets upset when you can't build buildings with lack of strategics. Stacking luxuries are just stupidity strong. The one time cost you spend for a luxury is worth it 10,000 times over. Luxuries are way way way too easy to get and also double to pacify AI. Perhaps penalties are too harsh because building 80 districts in a city standard late game wasn't forseen.ģ. Missed opportunity with climate change affecting the map. Pollution is terribly broken, the penalties are far too harsh and there is not enough counterplay. It's like, 5-10x more powerful than it should be (21X science?!?!?)Ģ. Also please, nerf the Turks unique building. With the current system, you get to a point where you have gone vertical and can build / research multiple things in about 1 turn by late game. There are over 60 historical cultures you’ll have the pleasure of familiarizing yourself with either again or for the very first time.Balancing definitely needs a pass on a variety of topics.ġ. There seems like endless content to enjoy right when you first start out, whether you’re learning from other cultures or waging war to take advantage of resources that are necessary for your colony’s survival. In terms of the gameplay, it looks pretty great. That’s what makes this strategy game really stand out from others in this space. Going from war to peace seems like a constant cycle you’ll experience in Humankind. ![]() It is here where your colony can learn new cultures and move forward as a melting pot of different ideas and beliefs, but still united. It appears there are numerous threats you’ll have to brace your colony for.Īfter the bevvy of battles, the narrator remarks that the different civilizations found peace and actually started living together. We then see battles take place in different domains, including by land and sea. This was customary back in the day when resources were limited. It then goes into your lands being invaded. As the times change, so does your civilization. It starts back during early civilization, when human beings were simply hunters and gatherers. Examining the gameplay trailer in further detail, we get an idea of some of the stories you’ll have the pleasure of experiencing firsthand. This latest trailer, featuring gameplay, should reignite that spark fortunately. The game was originally teased back in August at Gamescom and has since fell off the radar a bit. ![]() One of these was for the strategy game Humankind by Amplitude Studious. Some were to be expected, but then there were others that really took the community by surprise. This year, there were also a lot of trailer reveals. We’re fresh off The Game Awards, the annual event where gamers around the globe get to see which titles performed the best in various categories. ![]()
